This far into my K-Pop Songs: A-Z list you should know that I love me some SAM KIM. I’ve already talked about him in previous posts (M – Mama Don’t Worry) so I won’t go too deep into the album or the reason why his voice is so appealing to me. I will just be talking about how well he uses his voice in this particular song.
It should be no surprise by now that I’m in love with iKON, BOBBY and this album. What was a surprise was how much I loved this song. I think I liked it a lot more because of the MV but it doesn’t take away from how beautiful and haunting this song can be.
Although not the first song of HISTORYs I’d ever seen it definitely left a massive impact. Coming straight from watching their eye-catching MV for “Might Just Die”, I was waiting for a song that would make me a fan of theirs and “Queen” did it within the first 5 seconds. Although the group announced their disbandment on 12 May 2017, they still deserve some attention. I wasn’t a huge fan of their earlier work but this album was fantastic!
I have to thank the ever popular JRE from YouTube for first introducing me to this song. I was only six months fresh to the world of Korean music and while watching JREs top songs of 2015 I heard this song and immediately fell in love. Although there are a few different hands in the mixing pot of this song it was OH HYUKs voice that made me fall in love the most.
This album is the first of IUs that I’ve listened to in full and I’m in love with it. Although I do like some songs more than others, the album as a whole is spectacular. I also love how she is held in such high regard by Koreans. She won a lot of awards at all the end of year award shows and I think that’s what she deserves. She’s so young but to have this kind of successful career so far is truly beautiful.
DEAN is one of my absolute favourite soloists in Korea. Not only does he have a tonal difference that no one else has but the beats he sings on are so catered to him and this special tone. Of all the DEAN songs I could talk about “Outro” is one of my favourite ones.
MONSTA X is one of my favourite groups for a lot of reasons. Although I have like a lot of their albums their most recent The Code is their first album that I’ve enjoyed every song. Although I would’ve liked to talk about songs like “Dramarama” and “Tropical Night” which are a different genre and vibe than their normal sound, I wanted to talk about “Now Or Never” – a song that highlights all of MONSTA Xs strongest points.
