“Shoot Out” was a little nostalgic for me as it took me back to early MONSTA X and the style of music that first got me interested in them years ago. I do have to warn you all that this review is going to be extremely honest and if you’re not fond of reading other peoples opinions, you should leave now. I’m going to be overly critical of this album so as long as you know that then let’s continue.
I can’t exactly call this an MV First Look so there is no need for me to even be writing this. Twenty hours after this MV was released I have watched it ten times – zero exaggeration, 100% accurate. Ten times. That may not seem like a lot for those who stream MVs non-stop but I am not a streamer and haven’t been one for a while. But this song and MV are too good for me to not watch it multiple times.
After what feels like years and years, we finally have a mixtape from Jooheon. While I do like this current direction from him, I can’t help but be a little sad we didn’t get a mixtape from his last solo “Rhythm” – both styles are completely different yet I can’t help but be more drawn to the aggressive and darker version he brought to the table with “Rhythm”. In saying that – boy am I happy a mixtape even exists!
While I watched and wrote my first impression of “Red Carpet” as soon as it was released, I’m watching “Should I Do” a few days after it was released. Thankfully, by the time I’m watching this MV I still haven’t listened to the album so it’s worked out quite well.
I’m so excited to see this MV. The teaser was promising a lot of things from not only the sound of the song but also of the visuals – with conflicting concepts, showing the dichotomy of Jooheon’s personality. I’m proud of him for finally releasing something with his own name on it and I can’t wait to hear the mixtape. But first things first. I need to check out this MV!
I was so excited to finally listen to this album almost purely because of how much I loved The Code. Although I don’t like the album as much as I liked their previous one, I am happy that they’re showing progress music and production-wise. I love seeing a group grow!

I’m sure you guys can imagine how hard it was for me to not watch this for a few weeks after it was released. What I can say is that I LOVE this song. And this MV!!!
